Midi Box 4

The upgraded MIDI Box 4 is now more powerful than before, allowing you to convert standard 5-pin (DIN) MIDI communications to various 1/4″ formats. With four independent control ports that interface with your devices, setting up is now easier thanks to the new user-accessible configuration switches.

You can choose from four different output modes for each control port by adjusting the DIP switches on the front panel of the MIDI Box 4. The options include: - Tip Active: Compatible with devices like Alexander, Meris, Empress, Bondi, etc., that use voltage mode on the jack tip - Ring Active: Suitable for devices like Chase Bliss Audio that utilize voltage mode on the jack ring - Tip and Ring Active: Provides separate outputs on the tip and ring of the control port, allowing for two MIDI outputs using the TRS Insert Cable - TRS MIDI: Sets the tip active and pulls the ring terminal high, designed for Boss, Jackson, Cooper, Swindler, and other devices following the MIDI TRS specification. It also works with our MJ-5P MultiJack to MIDI cable for additional standard MIDI outputs.

The MIDI Box 4 requires a 9-12v DC input, with a maximum usage of 50mA. The Status LED lights up blue when powered on, blinks red when receiving MIDI data, and may turn violet for constant high-speed MIDI data like MIDI Clock. The device also features a dedicated hardware MIDI Thru, repeating any MIDI data received to send to your other MIDI devices. You can link multiple MIDI Box 4 units by connecting the MIDI THRU from the first box to the MIDI IN of the next one and so forth.
